Sarah Zaleski received a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and a Masters of Environmental Management and a Masters of Public Policy from Duke University where her research focused on developing a labor/environmental alliance to support clean energy policies.
Ms. Zaleski has worked on sustainability, energy, and climate policy at all jurisdictional levels. Regionally, Ms. Zaleski was involved in the first sustainability initiative in Teton County, Wyoming. At the state level, she designed and marketed energy demand side management programs for government and utility sponsored initiatives in North Carolina; on the federal front, she represented the Pew Center on Global Climate Change on Capitol Hill; and internationally, Ms. Zaleski assessed implications of expanding global biofuel markets while with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. In the private sector, Ms. Zaleski worked with owners and operators of commercial real estate portfolios to integrate sustainability into their new development, operations, and employee training programs.
In her current role with the City of Baltimore, Ms. Zaleski manages a range of projects including the Baltimore Sustainability Plan, the city's greenhouse gas emissions inventory, and the city's Climate Action Plan.
