Joseph Scarpa, LEED AP, Green, EcoBroker, e-PRO, is the founder and operator of Green Paradigm Realty LLC and Green Paradigm Institute. He provides sustainable business and real estate advisory services to clients in New Jersey and the Mid-Atlantic area. He is a specialist in green building and sustainable development, as well as an EcoBroker Team Leader with EcoBroker International.

Joe was involved in project management, cost control, and contract negotiations throughout his previous 20-year naval career. He was adjunct faculty in marketing / e-business at Cumberland County College and taught the first LEED Green Associate Exam Prep course at Atlantic Cape Community College. Familiar with development, energy, environmental issues in the region, Joe is a champion for high performance buildings. His current pet project is advocating for Energy Freedom Pioneers' adaptive reuse and conversion of a former Army base in Salem County, New Jersey, to an Eco-Industrial Park, incorporating various intelligent building concepts and integrating the buildings into the teaching curriculum.

He is active with the Southern New Jersey Development Council, the Urban Land Institute, the U.S. Green Building Council, and Strengthening the Mid-Atlantic Region for Tomorrow (SMART). He is a member of the [New Jersey] Cumberland/Salem County Workforce Investment Board. He has an A.A.S. in computer technology from Heald Institute, a B.S. in economics from University of Delaware and an M.S. in Management from U.S. Naval Postgraduate School.
